REFLECTIONS FROM GRADE 3/4 – THE WORLD ABOVE USWhat an exciting term we have had learning about ‘The World Above Us.’ Reflections in our Reflective Journals have been varied and interesting. Comments from the class include: I would defiantly highlight the best thing this term was the IMAX theatre because it was a good experience even though the 3D didn’t work – NicolaI loved Science Works especially the seats as you could lie down in them. The visit by Starlab was fun because we actually crawled into the dome and listened to Simon tell us about the night sky. – ZaraI liked doing the Space tasks in my Reflective Journal. – JamesI really enjoyed making my model of the Moon for my project. The class and Mrs Burgess thought it was fantastic. – OliverI liked the seats at the Planetarium and the movie about the flies that went into space. I also liked working with Nicola and making our brochure on Pluto. – AnnaI enjoyed going to ScienceWorks and visiting the Planetarium. I was annoyed that the 3D screen broke down at IMAX. I enjoyed using the ‘interactive whiteboard’ and watching teacher tube on Space. – AidanI enjoyed taking the photos and putting together the movie on Space using Moviemaker. I also liked doing my Space page in my Reflective Journal. – MichaelI really enjoyed having our movie afternoon watching ‘The Flight of the Navigator’ and eating popcorn. – Aimee I loved the bus trip to Melbourne and back. I got to sit with my friends and talk. I liked doing my project on the ‘Challenger’ and working with Johnny designing a brochure on Ceres was also great. – Harry. SI like watching the movies at IMAX and in the classroom about Space. I enjoyed the Planetarium and lying back in the seats. I liked doing the ‘sunset’ silhouettes and my space reflections page. – BrittanyIt was fun designing and making the space brochures. I worked with Rowland and our brochure was on Eris. I also enjoyed doing my project on Mars. – NickI liked doing my project on NASA. I liked doing the claymation on ‘The way the World ended,’ with Aidan. I also liked looking at all the websites on Space. – RowlandMaking the Solar System charts were fun. I liked watching the space movies. I enjoyed designing and looking at the Powerpoint projects on Space. I also thought completing my reflection thought on Space was fun. I like doing activities with my friends. – Harry. GIt was good that all the projects were bright and colourful. They were eye catching. – ChrisIt was really cool that the IMAX screen is the third biggest in the world. ANZAC DAY
Today we discussed ANZAC Day and what it means to us. Johnny was moved to write a poem about what ANZAC Day means to him.The class thought the poem was fantastic and with Johnny’s permission would like to share it the with the school community.
THANK YOU
Thank you for a country this nice,
You sacrificed your lives for our peace,
We tribute you and all the things you did,
I think it only fair we say
thank you.
Thank you, we will always honour, remember you,
We remember all the good you did,
Never in our life will we know braver men than you,
So we say thank you.
